David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.

The comedian

Acclaimed children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

A representative for the company stated: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was reached following an investigation into reports of conduct deemed unsuitable involving young women.

The publisher declined to specify the reasons for its decision, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works in total, which features a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
