Aircraft Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
An aircraft ferrying Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unplanned landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was discovered in the aircraft's cockpit window, per an official statement which confirmed that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft touched down following standard procedures and everyone onboard, such as Pete Hegseth, is secure," a press officer stated in a public statement.
The secretary was coming back from a short visit to Brussels when the incident occurred.
This event is not the initial instance that a US military aircraft ferrying a senior official has suffered mechanical issues.
In a previous incident this year, a American military jet carrying the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was forced to return to Washington after experiencing a mechanical problem.
